Local Customs & Etiquette
Namibia has a well-developed tourism industry with clear tipping guidelines. Many lodges have communal tip boxes for general staff, while guides and specialists should be tipped separately.
For multi-day safaris or tours, it's customary to tip at the end of your stay. Desert activities and specialized guides often warrant higher tips due to their expertise and the challenging conditions.
Additional Information
- Bring small denominations of USD for tips
- South African Rand is widely accepted
- Tips for activities should be given after each excursion
