Local Customs & Etiquette
Tipping is an important part of Uganda's tourism industry, particularly in wildlife viewing and gorilla trekking. Staff in these sectors rely significantly on tips to supplement their income.
For gorilla trekking, it's customary to tip your guide and porter separately after the trek. The experience can be physically demanding, and porters are especially helpful on difficult terrain.
